How it works
Best for: any car approaching its belt interval by age or mileage — and any car where you cannot prove it has been done.
This is just as important as your regular servicing, and every engine has its own belt life. Because of the job the belt does, neglect and failure are catastrophic and can be extremely expensive.
A worn belt is difficult to spot. As it degrades, rubber shearing — the belt falling away in strips — is a common occurrence, and that often leads straight to engine failure.
When that happens the vehicle either goes to the breakers or faces a repair bill far beyond the cost of the belt. Replacing it on schedule protects the engine and avoids the risk entirely.
While the front of the engine is stripped we replace the tensioners and, on most engines, the water pump — because it is driven by the same belt and the labour is already paid for. Doing it later means paying for that work twice.
Which cars? Belt-driven petrol and diesel engines. Chain-driven engines do not need this — we will tell you which yours is.
Warranty: 12 months on parts and labour.
What customers say
Had my Mercedes C180 in with Kaine to replace both front suspension springs. I knew that this was not an easy job on this car. Dropped the car off in the morning and it was ready that afternoon. He did an amazing job and I'll be recommending him to friends and family for any work that they need doing. 5 stars!
Had my Audi S3 in for a complete overhaul — Kaine supplied and fitted all the parts, including cam belt, water pump, a full service and a balance shaft delete. He also noticed one of my rear callipers was sticking, so recommended and fitted a new calliper and new rear discs and pads too. A 5 star service — I'll only use Kaine from now on for any mechanical work.
Exceptional experience with Kaine. Came out to me, took my car and fixed it all within two hours. Very impressed and will definitely call him if needed again. Great price.
Workshop servicing
Send us the registration and we confirm the exact figure for your vehicle before you book, rather than a from-price that changes on the day.
Drop the car at the workshop at a time that suits you, or ask about collection if getting it to us is awkward.
Anything we find is photographed and priced, and nothing happens until you have said yes. You will never collect the car and be surprised by the bill.
Service book stamped and the digital record updated, with twelve months on parts and labour.
Works well with
Each of these covers something the others cannot. Fitted in the same visit they cost less than booking them separately — ask and we will price the combination.
Re-Mapping
A custom file written for your engine on standard hardware. More power, better throttle response, and your original map kept on file.

Dashcams
Front and rear in Full HD, hardwired with parking mode and winter mode. The sensible minimum if you want evidence rather than a gadget.
Questions
It is set by age as well as mileage, and the two often differ — a low-mileage car can still be overdue on years. Send us the registration and we will tell you the interval for your exact engine and whether it has one at all.
Because the labour varies enormously. Some engines take three hours and others need the front of the car dismantled. We quote from the registration so the figure you get is the figure you pay.
On most belt-driven engines, yes. The pump is turned by the same belt, so if it fails later you pay for the whole strip-down a second time. It is a small part cost now against a large labour cost later.
Then we would treat it as due. Replacing a belt that had life left in it is a wasted few hundred pounds; running one that has not is a new engine.
No. A car can be serviced anywhere as long as the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses the correct parts and oil. We do exactly that, and stamp the book.
Send us the registration. Prices vary by make, model and engine — mostly because of oil specification — so we would rather give you the real figure than a headline one.
