It records while you drive
A loop of the road ahead and behind, at a resolution that can actually read a number plate. Anything less is a video of an incident you cannot prove.

It locks the important bit
An impact saves that clip away from the loop, so the footage you need is still there next week when the insurer finally asks for it.

It keeps watching when you leave
Hardwiring is what enables parking mode. The car is covered on a car park or a driveway, which is where most of the damage nobody owns up to happens.
The only decision that matters
Evidence on the road, or eyes on it parked?
We fit one brand, so this is not a brand comparison — it is a resolution one, and that is the only specification that really decides anything. The question is whether you need a plate readable in daylight, or readable at night as well. The second costs more, and for a lot of drivers it is not needed at all.

Dashcam FAQs
Do I really need it hardwired?
If you want parking mode, yes — a camera on the 12V socket stops recording the moment you switch the ignition off, which rules out the entire time the car is sitting unattended. Hardwiring also gets the cable out of sight and off your windscreen.
Will a dashcam drain my battery?
Not when it is fitted properly. The hardwire kit has a voltage cut-off that stops recording before the battery drops below what it needs to start the car, and we set that threshold with you at handover.
What resolution do I actually need?
Full HD covers a daylight collision at ordinary distances, which is most claims. 2K is the step where plates stay readable in poorer light, and 4K with a Sony Starvis sensor is what you want if you drive at night or park on an unlit street. On the rear camera Full HD is plenty, because anything behind you is closer.
Does a dashcam replace a tracker?
No. A dashcam shows you what happened and who was there; a tracker shows you where the car is now. They answer different questions, which is why the two are so often fitted together — and why we price them as a bundle when they are.
Will it lower my insurance premium?
A handful of insurers offer a small discount and most do not. Where a camera genuinely pays for itself is a not-at-fault claim — with footage it is settled quickly and your no-claims comes through intact.
Can you fit one to a car with a heated windscreen or sensor cluster?
Yes. Placement around rain sensors, heating elements and camera clusters is part of the job. Nothing is drilled, and everything runs behind the trim.
