Who we are

Carters Car Repairs, trading from 21 Sheelin Grove, Bletchley, Milton Keynes, MK2 3PG. We are the data controller for anything you send through this site.

What we collect

Only what the booking form asks for:

• Your name and phone number
• Your email address and postcode, if you give them — both optional
• Your vehicle registration and make
• Which product or service you are interested in, if you tell us
• Your preferred time to be called back, if you tell us
• Which page you sent it from, so we know what you were looking at

We do not use cookies for advertising or analytics on this site, and there is nothing here that tracks you across other websites.

Why we have it, and what we do with it

To work out a price for your vehicle and to reply to you. That is the whole purpose. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your details with anyone for marketing.

The lawful basis is that you have asked us to quote — steps taken at your request before entering into a contract.

Who else sees it

• Our email and enquiry system. Enquiries are delivered to us and stored so we can find them again.
• WhatsApp, but only if you choose to send us a message that way. That conversation is subject to WhatsApp’s own privacy terms as well as this notice.
• Our hosting provider, which processes the request in order to deliver the website to you.

If we go on to do the work, your details also end up in our normal job records, in the same way they would if you had walked in or rung up.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not turn into work are deleted after twelve months. Records of work we have actually carried out are kept for six years, which is what tax and warranty obligations require.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. There is no charge and we will respond within a month.

If you are not happy with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we would rather you told us first so we can put it right.
