How it works
Best for: cars with an upgraded intake, exhaust or intercooler already fitted — or owners planning that route properly.
Stage 2 is not a bigger number than Stage 1, it is a different job. It assumes supporting hardware is on the car and writes a file around what is actually there.
We check the mechanical side first: boost, fuelling and the health of the components the file will be leaning on. If something is marginal, you will hear about it before the file is written rather than after it fails.
Because every Stage 2 car is different, this is quoted per vehicle. Tell us what is fitted and what you are aiming for and we will give you a figure and an honest opinion on whether it is worth the money.
Which cars? Modified turbocharged petrol and diesel engines with supporting hardware already in place.
Warranty: 12 months on the file, with your original map kept indefinitely.
What customers say
Had my Mercedes C180 in with Kaine to replace both front suspension springs. I knew that this was not an easy job on this car. Dropped the car off in the morning and it was ready that afternoon. He did an amazing job and I'll be recommending him to friends and family for any work that they need doing. 5 stars!
Had my Audi S3 in for a complete overhaul — Kaine supplied and fitted all the parts, including cam belt, water pump, a full service and a balance shaft delete. He also noticed one of my rear callipers was sticking, so recommended and fitted a new calliper and new rear discs and pads too. A 5 star service — I'll only use Kaine from now on for any mechanical work.
Exceptional experience with Kaine. Came out to me, took my car and fixed it all within two hours. Very impressed and will definitely call him if needed again. Great price.
Workshop re-mapping
Send us the registration and we confirm what can safely be gained on your exact engine, and what it costs, before you book.
The car is checked over before a single line is written. If something needs attention first we tell you, rather than mapping over it.
The factory file is read off and archived before the new one goes on, so the car can be put back to standard at any point.
We drive it, then you drive it. If it is not what you wanted, the original goes straight back on.

Each of these covers something the others cannot. Fitted in the same visit they cost less than booking them separately — ask and we will price the combination.
Questions
It depends entirely on the engine, and there is no honest generic answer. Ring us with what the car is and what you want from it, and we will tell you what is worth fitting — including when the answer is that Stage 1 is enough for how you drive.
Because no two Stage 2 cars are the same. Pricing it off a menu would mean either overcharging the simple ones or cutting corners on the complicated ones.
Yes. A re-map is a modification, and not declaring it gives an insurer grounds to refuse a claim. Most note it for a modest premium change, and we will put the details in writing for you to forward.
No. It is an MOT failure and illegal for road use. If your emissions equipment is faulty we will help you fix it properly instead.

Re-Mapping
The same process aimed at fuel rather than power. Written for low-rev torque so a loaded van or a motorway commute uses less diesel.
